Three children killed in Wyebank informal settlement fire

Three young girls have died following a fire in Wyebank, west of Durban.
KZN emergency services say the fire broke out at a Fannin Road informal settlement this morning.
KZN EMS's Robert McKenzie says the girls were aged two, three and six.

"This morning a tragic fire broke out at the Wyebank informal settlement near Durban. Tragically, three young children have sustained fatal injuries as a result of the fire.
"The exact cause of the fire is not known at this stage but authorities are investigating. A disaster management team will be assessing the scene," he says.
The Ethekweni Fire department says the children were locked inside their home.
The Divisional Commander of the department's Western region, Dennis Govender says they managed to put out the blaze this morning, where they discovered the bodies of the children.
