Three children hurt in Durban North pedestrian crash
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Three children who were knocked down by a car in Greenwood Park are being treated in hospital this morning.
Police say the children were walking near Tweed and Effingham Roads, north of Durban yesterday when the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle.
The collision left two children with serious injuries. The police's Thembeka Mbhele says a case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened.
"The driver of the vehicle was driving out of his driveway when he allegedly knocked three children who were waiting next to the road. All the children were injured and taken to hospital," Mbhele said.
There was a similar incident in Malvern this past weekend - a nine-year-old boy lost his life.
