Three arrested for eThekwini metro cop's murder

Three suspects believed to have been involved in the murder of an eThekwini metro police officer are behind bars.
Errol Ogle was shot and killed after he tried to stop a truck driver who was going against traffic on the Hans Dettman highway last Thursday.
Ogle was not aware a truck jacking was in progress.
Hawks spokesperson Bonnie Nxumalo says Sabelo Mncube, Mzomuhle Gamede and Phakamani Mpanza made their first appearance in the Pinetown Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

"They were remanded in custody. The incident spurred the Hawks' investigation and with the assistance of metro police, they arrested the suspects within 72 hours.
"One man was arrested in Durban on Saturday, whereas the second man was arrested on Sunday at Estcourt. The third suspect was arrested in the early hours of Monday morning at a hostel in Umlazi.
"Mncube and his accomplices are facing charges of murder, armed robbery, hijacking and kidnapping. The matter was postponed to 1 September 2023 for further investigation."
