Judge Nonpumelelo Radebe told the Court that Khumalo’s murder was planned and premeditated.

Radebe says it is not an offence for a woman to reject a man. She told the court that there is no law against it.

She said Mzolo’s youth and leadership skills which were brought forward by his defence team, were not anything to consider for a lesser sentence because of the seriousness of the crime.

Radebe said Mzolo had no  respect for people’s lives and their integrity and spoke about how he bragged to his friends on Facebook after the murder with Khumalo's body just a meter away from him.

Khumalo’s elderly parents were in tears at the end of proceedings.
