Thabani Mzolo found guilty of murdering MUT ex-girlfriend

The Durban High Court has found Thabani Mzolo guilty of the 2018 murder of his ex-girlfriend.

Twenty-one-year-old Mangosuthu University of Technology student Zolile Khumalo - was shot and killed in her room at an off-campus residence in Durban Central.

Management at MUT says Mzolo was able to gain access to the res because another student signed him in.
Reacting to today's conviction, MUT Vice-Chancellor Enoch Malaza says the judgement is a victory - and sends a message that gender-based violence won't be tolerated.
Sentencing proceedings are expected to begin on Thursday.
