Tensions rise in Kathrada memorial in KZN
Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The ANC KZN Chair Sihle Zikalala has, in his address, criticized the use of funerals to promote political agendas.
Zikalala has been speaking at the memorial service for late SA icon, Ahmed Kathrada.
As former Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan was introduced, the league began chanting 'Zuma' at the event.
The Durban High Court - yesterday granted the league permission to attend the event - but ruled that the group will not be allowed to disrupt proceedings.

Initially, the Active Citizens Group brought an urgent application to court - seeking an interdict to bar the ANCYL from the event, saying this was in the interest of the safety of Gordhan, the keynote speaker.
The league's Thanduxolo Sabelo says however the league is attending to represent President Jacob Zuma who did not get an opportunity to pay his respects to the late struggle stalwart.
While, Zikalala said this is not the right platform to be voicing support for Zuma.
