KZN ANCYL welcomes court ruling on Kathrada memorial
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The ANC Youth League in KZN has welcomed the court's move to overturn a decision previously stopping them from attending Ahmed Kathrada's memorial service today.
The Durban High Court, after being approached by the Active Citizens Movement, had granted an interdict that would see the league staying away from Kathrada's memorial service which will be at Sastri College.
Yesterday, the court granted the league permission to attend the event despite fears that the league may disrupt the event.

The ANC Youth League's Mandla Shange says they see attempts to stop them from attending as a trend to use memorial services to push political agendas.
"This culture is inhumane, and against the spirit of Ubuntu. Uncle Kathy is one of our veterans and was honoured with Isithalwande by the ANC. We will attend the memorial service," he said.
