Tensions rise in Durban court as man linked to AKA death set to appear
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Proceedings were briefly interrupted at the Durban Magistrate's Court on Thursday, where a man linked to the killing of rapper Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes was set to make a first appearance.

The magistrate called for a brief adjournment to proceedings amid rising tensions between the state prosecutor and the lawyer representing the accused.
Forbes and his friend Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane were shot dead on Durban's Florida Road last month.
Advocate Annelene van den Heever and State Prosecutor Kuveshnie Pillay were involved in a heated exchange over the capturing of visuals featuring the accused.

Pillay asked the court for a seven-day postponement for all for an ID parade and address verification, among other things to take place.
Although Van den Heever was in agreement that no cameras be allowed in court, she quickly opposed the seven-day postponement, saying the ID parade boat had said as her client's identity had been made public during the group arrest, which is being circulated in a video.
Van den Heever also explained that SAPS allegedly did nothing to stop the video from circulating.
The magistrate ordered the adjournment to allow the two sides to cool down and for the issue to be addressed in private.
