Temporary classrooms for storm-hit KZN schools
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
With the fourth school term having started today, government officials say more than 400 schools across the province have been damaged by severe storms in recent weeks.

Departmental spokesperson, Kwazi Mthethwa says emergency funds will be used to make classrooms available to the worst affected areas.
"Those schools that have been hard hit by the storm will be able to provide an interim intervention in the form of mobile classrooms. I must say that this is a natural cause so it therefore means those funds that were meant for other projects will now have to be redirected to these damages," he says.
The Enkangala Secondary School in Weenen, north of Estcourt, was hit hard last week.

Severe storms there had flattened classrooms, meaning around 100 pupils had to spend their first day back at school out in the open.
