Teffo's withdrawal from Meyiwa trial a setback for family - Nel
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The head of AfriForum's private prosecution unit, Advocate Gerrie Nel, says the decision by Malesela Teffo to withdraw from the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial is a setback for the footballer's family.
Teffo, who represented four of the five accused, dropped the bombshell during court proceedings on Tuesday.
He told the High Court in Pretoria he can no longer be part of the trial because he's received numerous threats.

Nel says this will delay justice for the Meyiwa family.
"Obviously new council will have to come into trial and I really hope that if they get new counsel in the matter, that council will focus on the narrative.
"Let's deal with the narrative and get to a judgement in this matter."
