Teen's body recovered from Durban's Blue Lagoon

The body of a Zimbabwean teenager who drowned at Blue Lagoon in Durban at the weekend - has been found.

The 17-year-old boy was swept away by the outgoing tide on Saturday afternoon.
Police divers - who've been working since the weekend to find him - extended their search this morning to the backline where they came across his body.
"This morning, the search and rescue team as well as Metro's search and rescue team managed to recover the body of a 17-year-old boy - reported drowned in the Blue Lagoon area last week. It is alleged that the 17-year-old boy was together with his friend when they tried to cross the Umgeni River. One managed to escape from the water and the second one drowned," SAPS spokesperson Thulani Zwane said.
