Teenage boy shot and killed in Sydenham

Netcare 911 spokesperson Shawn Herbst says the teen was declared dead at the scene.

Reports from the scene are that the boy was being chased by a group on Butcher Road on Sunday afternoon before he was shot.

"The male was assessed by an advanced life support paramedic, but sadly the patient showed no signs of life and was tragically declared deceased.

"Circumstances leading up to the incident will be investigated by the relevant authorities."
