Teen drowns at Baggies beach near Toti

A teenager has drowned at Baggies beach in Amanzimtoti, south of Durban.
The 16-year-old boy and an 11-year-old tried to swim across the river to the other side.
A diver operation was conducted by the SAPS Search and Rescue Unit as well as Durban Metro Police.
The boy's body was found trapped beneath a log at a depth of about 3m.
Mbele says an inquest docket has been opened by Amanzimtoti SAPS for further investigation.
The older boy got into difficulty and disappeared beneath the surface of the water.
