A 14-year-old boy has been killed after a bakkie transporting school children was involved in a crash with another vehicle in northern KZN.
More than a dozen other children were hurt, some of them critically, in the collision between Mandeni and Eshowe.
IPSS Medical Rescue's Paul Herbst says helicopters are busy airlifting some of the injured pupils to medical facilities.

"The Air Mercy services helicopter is already transported one patient and had rerouted back for a second patient," he says.
It's unclear what caused the crash.
