Teachers in KwaZulu Natal are asking for more guidance on the re-integration of staff at schools, saying they're worried about the vulnerable.
Teachers with co-morbidities have been working from home since the coronavirus lockdown in March.
They reported for duty yesterday after the country moved to alert level one.
Nomarashiya Caluza, is with the teachers' union SADTU, said the Department of Health has not declared that those that were categorised as vulnerable because of the underlying illnesses it's no longer there, as they are told to come back.
"That is why it is justified when they have fear. It is justified for us to demand for the employer to make provisions for their safety in schools as they return."

More than 22 000 teachers in the country, were granted the concession to work remotely. KZN Education's Muzi Mahlambi says they're confident that most teachers returned to work without issues:
"The districts are still collecting that data in terms of how many have been working remotely and how many reported for duty. Generally, we have a very good picture."
