Former KZN mayor shot dead
A former KwaZulu-Natal mayor has been shot dead.
Police have confirmed that Maxwell Hadebe was killed last night.
SAPS spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says the 50-year-old former Ndwedwe mayor was attacked by gunmen at his business premises.
Hadebe was mayor of the municipality in Ilembe from 2011 to 2016.
The Cooperative Governance Department says it is shocked and saddened by his murder.
