It's alleged the victim, believed to have been a taxi boss, was sitting in his vehicle near Lotusville Primary on Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked.
Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa responded after they received multiple reports of rapid gunfire.
Rusa's Prem Balram says at the same time, parents had arrived to fetch their children from school.
