It's alleged the victim, believed to have been a taxi boss, was sitting in his vehicle near Lotusville Primary on Wednesday afternoon when he was attacked.

Paramedics from Reaction Unit South Africa responded after they received multiple reports of rapid gunfire.

Rusa's Prem Balram says at the same time, parents had arrived to fetch their children from school.

"Upon arrival, they found a sliver bakkie riddled with bullets. When paramedics and officers approached the vehicle, they found a male seated in the driver's seat. He was shot multiple times. Paramedics treated him on scene but he demised a few minutes later."
