Suspects in Sweetwaters tavern shooting remanded in custody

The four men arrested in
connection with the deadly shooting at a tavern in Pietermaritzburg have been
remanded in custody.
Gunmen stormed the establishment in Sweetwaters over a week ago and opened fire.
Four patrons were killed and eight others were wounded.
The motive for the attack has still not been confirmed.

KZN police spokesperson Nqobile Gwala says the suspects are aged between 19 and 36.
"The suspects were arrested in the area of Nhlazatshe in Pietermaritzburg. Two of the suspects were found in unlawful possession of a firearm with a total of 17 rounds of ammunition."
The four men will back in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate's Court next week Thursday for a formal bail application.
