Memorial service to be held for Soweto tavern shooting victims

A memorial service to honour the lives of 13 of the 16 people gunned down at a tavern in Soweto will be held in uMzimkhulu on Wednesday.
The victims, who were between the ages of 19 and 35 years, are said to have been from the southern KZN region.
The bloody attack took place in Nomzamo Park earlier this month.
Local leaders, including KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, are expected to pay their respects to the families later.

Meanwhile, Police Minister Bheki Cele's quashed speculation that the recent tavern shootings in the country are linked.
"There is absolutely no evidence that those killing at taverns are linked. While we haven't arrested anybody in Soweto, tough people properly identified them according to the provincial commissioner there."
