Suspected robber shot dead during Morningside break-in

An armed intruder has been shot dead at a home Durban's Morningside area.
The man is believed to have belonged to a group that broke into the Waller Crescent property on Wednesday evening.
While the details surrounding the home invasion are being investigated, it's understood there was a shootout.
The homeowner was shot in the back.

“A male, approximately 30 years of age, was found to have sustained fatal injuries. He was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.
“Reports from the scene allege that a number of armed suspects forced entry into the home, holding up the family. A shootout ensued with the suspect suffering fatal gunshot wounds.
“The South African Police Service were in attendance and will be conducting the necessary investigations.”
