Suspected robber killed, accomplices arrested in Pinetown

Two suspects have been arrested after an attempted cash heist in Westmead in Pinetown.

According to police, a security guard was attacked on Sunday after he'd collected money from a cash and carry store on Goodwood Road.

According to a police report, the guard was walking towards the armoured truck when two armed men assaulted him in an attempt to rob him of the cash.
This then led to a shootout between security personnel and the suspects.
One of the suspected robbers was killed.
Police say another man who was wounded ran to their getaway vehicle, where his accomplice was waiting.
The pair was later arrested.
