Suspected PMB drug dealer to apply for bail

A suspected drug dealer arrested in Pietermaritzburg is expected to apply for bail next week.
KZN Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says 34-year-old Chinonso Okafor is accused of dealing in drugs in the city.
He was arrested earlier this week.
"Members received information about a suspect who was supplying drugs to the drug dealers around Pietermaritzburg. Observations were made around the suspect’s residence and he was spotted leaving the residence.

"Members approached him and a search was conducted. He handed over small sachets suspected to be cocaine powder to the police. Police took him to his residence for passport and address verification purposes."
When they arrived in his flat, police found more drugs estimated to have a street value of R88,000.
Okafor is expected to apply for bail during his next court appearance on Thursday.
