Suspected Phoenix drug dealer in court

A 21-year-old suspect is appearing in court on Monday after he was found in possession of drugs and an unlicensed firearm in Phoenix, north of Durban.
He was arrested on Sunday by members of the Hawks, metro police and police after they'd received a tip-off about drug dealing activities in the area.
The firearm will undergo ballistic testing to see if it has been used in any crime.
KwaZulu-Natal Hawks spokesperson Simphiwe Mhlongo says the drugs have an estimated street value of R22 000.

"The Hawks found heroin capsules, mandrax tablets, as well as crack cocaine.
"A further search was conducted where a 9mm pistol with live rounds of ammunition was also found. Then e was immediately placed under arrest and charged accordingly.
"The suspect is expected to appear in the Phoenix Magistrate’s Court."
