Suspect in dock for alleged kidnapping and murder

A suspect arrested for allegedly kidnapping and killing his ex-fiance's lover is expected to appear in the KwaDukuza Magistrate Court today.

 The 40-year-old man allegedly murdered 26-year-old Sanda Dlamini from Shakashead after he was reported missing in October last year by his partner. 

Police followed up on information to track Dlamini, which led them to Greytown area where the suspect was hiding on New Years Day.

 KZN SAPS spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says they were then told the man relocated to Bizana in the Eastern Cape, where he was found and questioned on Dlamini's disappearance.

"After a lengthy interrogation, the suspect agreed to take the police to the bushes along the R 614 where he allegedly buried Dlamini." 

 With the assistance of Umhlali Search and Rescue, the skeletal remains were found in the bushes. 

"The suspect was then arrested and charged for kidnapping and murder.It is alleged that the suspect kidnapped and killed Dlamini for dating his ex-fiancé," says Mbele.
