#SuperMoon leaves KZN #SuperDisappointed

On Monday night, millions of people around the world were fortunate enough to catch a rare glimpse of the biggest supermoon since 1948. But if you were in KZN, chances are you weren't as lucky. The poor weather conditions prevented the celestial body from shining bright in the KZN skies. And social media users weren't having any of it - after missing out on seeing the histroic moon in all its glory.

Last night, the moon appeared 14% bigger and 30% brighter than usual, as it came the closest it has been to earth - in 68 years!

While the rest of South Africa - and the world - were able to witness the biggest and brightest supermoon in living memory, many people in KZN were unable to see the natural phenomenon take place - as a result of extreme rain and cloud cover across the province.

They'll now have to wait until November 25, 2034 just to be able to see the moon appear this big again.

Social media users expressed their disappointment on Facebook and Twitter:

And to those who did get to witness the supermoon in all its glory, thanks for adding to our #FOMO!
