Striking DSW workers given ultimatum to return to work
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
eThekwini's DSW employees have been
ordered to end their strike and report back to work immediately or be
fired.

The city has issued the ultimatum, saying it's so far suspended around 20 workers linked to the illegal walkout.
Spokesperson Gugu Sisilana says the call urging them to report for duty was made during a special EXCO meeting.
The SAMWU members downed tools last Tuesday, saying they aren't being paid as much as workers in other metros.
The labour action halted refuse collection and street-sweeping services and led to the closure of some health clinics.
Sisilana says other services have been affected.
"The city remains committed to urgently reinstating services such as water and electricity while addressing security threats posed by infrastructure sabotage.

"Communities without water and electricity for several days are bearing the brunt of this unlawful strike action. Patients have also sadly been unable to access healthcare."
Refuse collection has also been affected with residents and businesses forced to contain refuse inside their properties until further notice.
