Strike sees uShaka Marine World closed until further notice
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
uShaka Marine World shut its doors on Monday morning until further notice.

Wage negotiations between workers at the Durban theme park and eThekwini Municipality have deadlocked.
Municipal workers' union SAMWU says the city failed to implement salary adjustments recommended by an audit firm eight years ago.
It would see some of the cleaners earning more than double what they are currently receiving.

The dispute is now being handled by the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration.
SAMWU's Xolani Dube says they'll go on strike on Wednesday if their demands aren't met.
"The employers subsequently wrote a letter that they would invoke the lockout. I mean, they have the right to lock out as the employer in terms of the act."
