Stop speculating on motive behind killing of employee: Kaunda

eThekwini officials are asking members of the public not to promote speculation on the motive behind the killing of one of its employees.
Khumbulani Khumalo was gunned down in Intanda near Inanda last week.
The 51-year-old community services service in the Water and Sanitation Unit was found in his municipal vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds.
The KwaZulu-Natal police are investigating a case of murder.

Mayor Mxolisi Kaunda says they are looking at ways of protecting municipal employees from being targets.
"How do we insource more people than having to outsource services? Because contractors on their own present a threat.
"When people do not continue to get some work, they try all other strategies to get the work. But also, our employees become victims when they are told that they may be blocked by someone from accessing something."
