Nandipha Magudumana, Bester's partner, was denied bail in the same court last month after she claimed she was kidnapped and taken against her will to Tanzania.

The rape and murder convict escaped from a Mangaung correctional facility in 2022.

"We only get to know on the 11th of October as to whether the investigations are finalised or if there is anything outstanding, what is outstanding," says spokesperson for the NPA in the Free State, Phaladi Shuping.
