Jonas has told the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into state capture that the meeting was facilitated by former president, Jacob Zuma's son, Duduzane Zuma and businessman, Fana Hlongwane

He says he met with Duduzane at a Johannesburg hotel - but that Duduzane suggested he drive them to a quieter place.

Jonas says they ended up at the Gupta mansion where he was offered the Finance Minister post one of the Gupta brothers.

He says he was told Treasury needed to be rid of certain individuals.

"He said that when I'm appointed as Minister of Finance - I would have to remove the Director General Lungisa Fuzile; head of tax and financial sector policy, Ismail Momoniat; deputy director general Andrew Donaldson and chief of procurement Kenneth Brown. Further, he said they'd provide me with replacements of all these people and the necessary support - including advisors," Jonas said.
