State Capture Inquiry: Former NPA officials implicated
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Suspended NPA senior officials, Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi are said to have received bribes from BOSASA.
During his testimony this morning former BOSASA boss Angelo Agrizzi said Jiba and Mrwebi would receive bribes in exchange for keeping BOSASA off of the prosecution radar.
Both Jiba and Mrwebi, who have for years been facing allegations of improper conduct and political influence, are currently before a commission to establish their fitness to hold office.
Agrizzi has told the state capture inquiry that the two were paid monthly amounts so they would keep BOSASA up to speed with any investigations into the company.

"They would then give us updates - very accurate updates and basically in return for that, they received the cash on a monthly basis. This went on since 2010," Agrizzi said.
Agrizzi also says codes were given for each NPA personnel.
He says Jiba was called "Snake" for her sharpness, her P.A, Jackie was simply called "J" and Mrwebi was referred as "Snail" because he's slow.
"'Snake' would get R100 000 per month, 'J' would get R20 000 per month and 'Snail' would get R10 000 a month," Agrizi said.
