The 26-year-old woman and her 20-year-old partner appeared briefly in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Video footage emerged in March - showing the woman severely assaulting the four-year-old child.

At today's proceedings, the State asked for an adjournment so that they can request a regional court date for the matter.

The court heard that detectives have wrapped up their investigations and prosecutors believe they have a strong case.
