Stage two loadshedding returns, Eskom confirms
Updated | By Newswatch
Rotational power cuts are back, power utility Eskom has confirmed.
Stage 2 loadshedding will be implemented from 12:00 today until
23:00 on Sunday night.
The utility said in a statement that they had suffered a loss of generation capacity overnight.
Two generation units at the Kusile Power station tripped due to failure of its main coal feed conveyor belts. A unit each at the Kriel and Duvha tripped as well.

“Loadshedding will, therefore, manage the use of emergency reserves but is subject to change.
Eskom says they currently have 358MW on planned maintenance, while another 14 748MW of capacity is unavailable due to unplanned maintenance,” the statement said.
Eskom urges the public to reduce the electricity consumption.
