Stage 2 load shedding continues today until Friday
Updated | By Newswatch
Eskom says it won't be suspending load shedding today like it was supposed to. Stage 2 rotational power cuts are going to continue until Friday.
Furthermore, Eskom says load shedding could last well into Sunday.
The electricity provider says it regrets the situation due to a shortage of capacity and a higher demand for power.
CEO Andre de Ruyter has said in a statement that they don't decide to impose load shedding lightly, but the reality is that the utility's generating structure has come under severe strain - making it unreliable.

"Eskom wishes to remind South Africans that there is an increased possibility of load shedding over the next 18 months as Eskom is conducting critical maintenance to restore its ageing plant to good health."
"Customers are also advised that any additional shifts on the system may require a change in the load shedding stage."
"We, therefore, request customers to use electricity sparingly and to reduce demand during this period of load shedding."
