Updated | By Lethiwe Mdluli
Rhino protectors have praised KwaZulu-Natal residents for being their eyes and ears on the ground.
A tip-off from locals in St Lucia on the north coast is what led to four suspected poachers being nabbed this week.
Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife's Musa Mntambo says it is the community who have helped strengthen the fight against rhino poaching.
"Four suspects were arrested in St. Lucia for rhino poaching on their way to poach in and around Isimangaliso Wetland Park. We have intensified our strategies to fight rhino poaching," Mntambo said.
