The spread of HIV must be controlled: SANAC
Updated | By Jarryd Subroyen
With World Aids Day being observed across the globe tomorrow, the South African National Aids Council says they have made great strides with research over the past decade, but the spread of the virus is something that needs to be controlled.

SANAC's Dr Sandile Buthelezi says one in five South Africans are infected with the HIV.
He's stressed it is important for people to find out their status and take the necessary steps.
"A lot of people do not test. They only find out their status when they are already sick, which is problematic. If people go and test when they are healthy they can actually get interventions early and live much longer," he said.
