Speeding major concern for traffic officials

The Road Traffic Management Corporation says speeding is a major concern during this time of the year.

The agency's Simon Zwane says while they've had no major incidents over the long weekend they've caught some drivers breaking the rules.
He's advised motorists to be on the lookout for pedestrians in residential areas and to adjust their driving, according to the weather conditions.

"People who are driving when they don't have driving licenses, some are driving vehicles who don't have valid license disc and those who are driving the influence under alcohol.
"The things we are seeing on the road at the moment and they they do lead to crashes and fatalities on the road."
