The National Council of the SPCA's is confident it has a strong case
against a Pietermaritzburg dog breeder.

The NSPCA opened a criminal case against Amond Sheik for animal cruelty on Monday.
Inspectors visited the man's property twice and on both occasions found shocking conditions of the state of the 17 pitbull dogs kept in cages.
Senior Inspector Nazareth Appalsamy says he continued, although they tried warning the dog breeder for contravening the animal protection act.

"The NSPCA found 17 Pitbulls confined to cages, two needed veterinary attention, they had large gaping wounds on them and there were others in cages that were not been cleaned for days with the accumulation of faeces and urine.
“Most of the animals had no potable drinking water, others were starting to destroy the environment they were kept in.”
