32-year-old Bianca Parsons had been sitting in her car with her 3-year-old daughter on Saturday night when they were approached by a gunman.

Police say her husband had been inside the garage shop when the attack occurred.

They say the motive for the killing remains unknown at this stage.

Pink, yellow and white flowers have been laid at the scene, marking the spot where Parsons took her last breath.

Some local residents who gathered at the petrol station earlier today say Parsons was a member of their community and they feel angry at her brutal murder.

Workers at the petrol station say detectives have been at the scene several times
since the shooting trying to piece together exactly what happened.

Emergency services say Parsons sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body.

She was declared dead at the scene.

Her daughter was not hurt.

Police confirmed that a 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele says he will appear in court soon on charge of murder.
