Police have released more information on the brutal murder of a Durban woman who was shot dead in front of her young daughter at the weekend.

The woman, believed to be 30-years-old, had been in her vehicle at a petrol station in Tara Road in Wentworth, south of the city on Saturday night.
She was attacked by unknown gunmen who fired several shots at her.
Emergency services say the woman sustained multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body and was declared dead at the scene.
Her daughter was not hurt in the attack.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbhele says the woman had been waiting for her husband at the petrol station at the time.
"Her husband had been inside the garage [shop] buying something and she was left with the 3-year-old child. Police are still trying to establish the motive for the shooting," she said.
Mbhele says no arrests have been made.
