Slight improvement for IEB matric results

The Independent Examinations Board matric results were
released on Wednesday.
It was an impressive showing by the class of 2022 as private schools announce their performances.
The class of 2022 achieved a 98.42% overall pass rate a slight improvement on the previous year's pass rate of 98.39%.
A total of 89% have achieved entry into degree studies, 7.5% into diploma studies and 1.57% can study at the Higher Certificate level.
2022 saw 12 580 full-time and 945 part-time candidates writing the IEB National Senior Certificate exams across the country.
Hilton College Dux pupil Tanner Bailey says he expects to reap the rewards of his hard work.

"I put quite a bit of work and time into all the subjects that I took, so I'm hoping to achieve quite high in all subjects and hopefully achieve the top 1% in Physics, Maths and Economics. So those are my highest hopes."
John Eastes from Kearsney College made the IEB’s outstanding achievement list for being in the top 5% in six or more subjects and says he plans to study actuarial science at Stellenbosch University.
"I'm not stressed out about the results. I felt super well prepared for the finals and I'm exicted to see what the results are and hopefully my school and parents proud."
