The 64-year-old Ward 84 councillor was gunned down outside in eNgonyameni Reserve on Tuesday night.
His daughter, Nqobile Phungula says they'd just arrived home - in separate cars - from the hospital.
While they were parking, the gunman - who appeared to have been hiding in a corner - walked to her father and shot him twice as he got out of his car.
"When he was coming out of his car, an unknown man approached from the corner and shot at him twice then we saw him fall on the ground.

"We did not see the suspect, but we're shocked that all this happened in our yard."
She says they've been in shock ever since.
"He was a very quiet person. He was fond of people. His community came first as he was a dedicated community leader."
