Police in Durban say the suspects - aged between 17 and 31 - were tracked down to Newlands East and Effingham Heights and taken into custody on Monday morning.
Family friend, Joanne Ryan has welcomed the development.
"We are happy with the breakthrough of the six arrested for murder of Renardo Naidu.
"The family at present are not in a good space regarding the murder of the son and a brother. A special thanks to SAPS KwaMashu for the swift arrest. Let justice prevail," says Ryan.
In another case - a 31-year-old woman is appearing in the Ntuzuma Magistrate's Court today on a murder charge.
It's alleged she stabbed a 55-year-old man during an argument on Sunday.
