Nzuza was arrested by the Hawks last week for his alleged connection with the multi-million rand solid waste tender which also involves former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede.
After appearing in court, Nzuza was later released on R50 000 bail.
City spokesperson Msawakhe Mayisela says: "We'd like to assure all our residents that the City will continue to live up its constitutional mandate that of providing basic services and there is nothing that is going to impede it in this regard."
Opposition parties have since moved to have Nzuza suspended while the court proceedings continue.
