Sihle Zikalala is headed to the National Assembly

The ANC in KZN says
he's resigned as MEC for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs due to
his redeployment.

It says Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube to formally process the resignation.
Zikalala relinquished the premiership last August after failing to retain his position as ANC provincial chair at the KZN elective conference.
He then took over at COGTA.

Last month, the former premier topped the list of the ANC NEC at the party's national elective conference - after receiving the most number of votes to be a member of the decision-making structure.
It sparked speculation he'd be redeployed to a national position.
