Phalatse gunning for DA leadership at April conference

Former Johannesburg mayor Mpho
Phalatse is confident that the DA will win next year's elections - should she
be at the helm of the party.

Phalatse confirmed her intention to throw her name in the hat and take on incumbent John Steenhuisen for the party leadership.
Phalatse was ousted as mayor through a no-confidence vote last week.
The DA is expected to hold its elective conference in April.
"There is absolutely no doubt in my mind, and I dare in the minds of many, that South Africans need a significant dose of renewed hope,” Phalatse told the media at a briefing in Soweto on Monday.
