Updated | By ECR Newswatch
The Shoprite Group says its recalled its Farmer’s Deli red vienna sausages and smoked viennas today - after a single batch of the viennas tested positive for listeria.

The group says these products are being pulled from the shelves pending the further tests to confirm whether or not the bacteria is the deadly ST6 strain.
The Shoprite Group says customers can return any Farmer’s Deli 500g and 1kg red and smoked viennas for a full refund - even without proof of purchase.
Listeria ST6 has been linked to the current listeriosis outbreak in the country - that has resulted in 181 deaths.
Tiger Brands has pulled thousands of tons of its Enterprise ready-to-eat cold meat products.
This after it was found that the ST6 strain of listeria was detected at its Polokwane factory.
Meanwhile, RCL Foods released a statement yesterday saying there's no trace of the bacteria found in products of its subsidiary, Rainbow. The food production company claims its Wolwehoek facility, in the Free State, has been cleared.
