Shooting outside Newcastle deputy mayor's home sparks fear in political circles

A constituency administrator at Amajuba says many political leaders in the district municipality are living in fear.
This after a deadly attack near the home of Newcastle's deputy mayor.
A security guard was killed and another wounded after they were shot outside Musa Thwala's house in Madadeni on Monday.

It's alleged the occupants of a vehicle parked across the road opened fire on them.
Constituency administrator Imran Keeka says Twala, who was a friend and colleague, is deeply disturbed.

"He told me how he felt and, of course, he is quite distressed and the tensions within the Amajuba area has for quite some time been quite intense.
"We know that not too long ago the Speaker of the district municipality was also shot and killed."
