Sherne Pillay murder-accused to spend Christmas in jail

A Durban man accused of the murder of his partner will spend the holidays behind bars.
It's alleged Ebrahim Chohan killed 27-year-old make-up artist - Sherne Pillay in their Overport home just over a week ago.
Chohan made another appearance in court today where the State said it would be opposing bail.
The bail application is due to be heard in January.

Pillay's mother, Nadira Pillay says she's happy Chohan will remain behind bars.

"I want the full arm of the law to take its course with the whole case at hand. And justice will be served and it will be done.
"I have faith in the law at this stage, being that it is going forward and I'm going to continue with this plea and this fight for justice for Sherne," said Nadira.
