'Several people' interviewed by cops on AKA, Tibz shooting – Mkhwanazi

KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi says they have interviewed several people in connection with the killings of Kiernan 'AKA' Forbes and Tebello 'Tibz' Motsoane.

The rapper and his former manager were shot dead a week ago outside a Florida Road restaurant in Durban.
Speaking to reporters at Parliament on Friday, Mkhwanazi said investigators had spoken to a number of people in KZN and Gauteng in connection with the killings.

"Many people we have opened statements and we have collected cell phones. The viewing of the videos is still continuing and we are still putting evidence together in order for us to be able to have a solid case going forward.
"The identification of those that were seen on videos that you might have seen on social media, we have got an idea as to who might those people be. We are continuing to investigate."
Police Minister Bheki Cele added that he has been kept up to speed on developments.
"This provincial commissioner, we were together on the phone all the time and talking about the team that he has put and all that led by Brigadier Cele who is one of the top investigators.
"The next morning, I was phone by the family requesting a few things to be done. I spoke at lengths with the father of AKA."
A memorial service for AKA will be held in Sandton on Friday.
